Stephanie Strong

Stephanie majored in art at Lindfield College in Mc Minnville, Oregon and then transferred to Alaska Pacific University where she graduated with a BA in Elementary Ed. After teaching kindergarten, second and third grade, Stephanie and her family moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1981. Soon after arriving in Bellevue, she and a neighbor began a children & adult accessory manufacturing company which was distributed throughout the Seattle area and entire Nordstrom chain.

After living in the northwest for eighteen years Stephanie’s husband Jon received an excellent job opportunity in Phoenix. While in Phoenix, Stephanie went back to school and earned an Interior Design degree and worked for a cutting edge design firm that worked on national projects.

Stephanie Strong, ASID is principal of Strong Design. With a degree in Interior Design and holds a Sustainable Design Certificate, she enjoys promoting sustainable design practices while integrating green products into each project design. As a Professional Member of the American Society of Interior Designers, Stephanie has met the highest standards in the field. Only Professional Members qualified by accredited education, years of proven experience and passage of the NCIDQ examination may use the designation ASID.

Stephanie and Jon returned to the northwest to be close to family and her three grand-kids. It has been wonderful to be back in the northwest and have time to get back to her love of painting. One of her favorite subjects in design school was drawing & rendering. She enjoys working with acrylic and watercolors but a few years ago she was introduced to silk painting. She likes how the paint flows freely and is more unpredictable than watercolor. She was excited to connect with the creative members of Sudden Valley Art Guild.
